Vehicle Rescue with HazMat Leak

This morning (December 13, 2022) at approximately 10:28 am, the department and mutual aid partners were dispatched for a vehicle rescue on the ramp from Route 202 North to Route 422 West.

Expressway Vehicle Fire

Tuesday evening shortly before 7:00 PM, crews from Upper Merion Twp. Fire and EMS were alerted to a vehicle fire on the westbound lanes of the Schuylkill Expressway in the Gulph Mills section of the Township. Deputy 56-2 (Orangers) arrived to find a sedan well off just before the 329 exit. Engine 56-2 (Swedeland) arrived and stretched an attack line to extinguish the fire. New Milwaukee Tools

The Upper Merion Township Fire & EMS Department have taken delivery of a new complement of battery operated Milwaukee power tools. These tools will replace aging tools along with some new tools to further our capabilities. Every front line Engine, both Rescues, Ladder, Tower, and Marine unit will receive tools. Introduction to Sprinkler Systems Class

Yesterday for weekly drill members from all three companies met at Swedesburg Vol. Fire Co. (Station 56C) for a Sprinkler Class hosted by New Jersey National Fire Sprinkler Association. Rope Rescue Drill in Valley Forge National Park

Members from the department came together this past Monday night to participate in a Rope Rescue Drill in Valley Forge National Park. Members performed a rescue of a "victim" who was located at the bottom of a 60 degree slope in a heavily wooded area. Shortly before midnight on Saturday August 27th, Upper Merion Township Fire & EMS and Engine & Quint 54 (Bridgeport Fire Department) were dispatched to the unit block of Manor Ln. in the King Manor Section of the Township for a reported basement fire.
