On Saturday, July 13, 2024, Upper Merion Township Fire and EMS Department and the American Red Cross walked several streets within the Sweetbriar section of the community. Teams went door to door speaking to residents about the importance of having working smoke alarms in the home. With the weather conditions less than ideal, our teams braved the hot steamy day with true professionalism, passion and dedication in effort to making homes safer. The team was able to visit 37 homes, share fire safety tips with 94 residents and installed 119 smoke alarms.
If any resident needs smoke alarms in their home, please contact the Upper Merion Township Fire and EMS Department Smoke Alarm Hotline at 484-636-3945 to make a request. Once the call is received, a member of our team will contact you to schedule the installation date and time. Stay safe!
