Department Assists Norristown on Working Fire

Shortly after 2 pm on Thursday, March 3, 2022, the department was dispatched to assist Norristown Fire Department on a dwelling fire. Originally dispatched as an "Unknown Type Fire", Norristown units arrived in the reported are and found fire in two middle-of-the-row homes.

Deputy 27 reported heavy fire in the rear of the dwellings. Engine 56 laid a supply line to the rear of the row and deployed multiple hand lines to help extinguish the fire. Engine 56 had three 1.75" hand lines in service, operating between the roof, second floor, and first floor of both dwellings.

Engine 56-4 was called into the scene to assist with additional manpower.

Chief 56 operated as an interior supervisor overseeing fire attack and overhaul operations.

All civilians were able to safely evacuate the dwellings, and no injuries to firefighters were reported. The department returned to service approximately two hours after dispatch.
