Dinner Time Vehicle Rescue

Last evening around 6:00 PM Medic 356 and QRS 56 were dispatched for a vehicle accident with injuries at the intersection of N. Gulph Rd and W. Valley Forge Rd in the Valley Forge National Park. 56 PD (Upper Merion Police) arrived to a multiple vehicle accident with two victims trapped. The incident was quickly upgraded to a vehicle rescue bringing all Township Companies to the scene. Deputy 56-3 (J. Recupido) arrived confirming entrapment in two vehicles and established command. Medics and Police were able to free the first victim in vehicle one. Crews from Engine 56-2 (Swedeland Fire Co.) and Rescue 56-3 (Swedesburg Fire Co.) worked to remove one door to free the second victim in vehicle two. The crew of Engine 56-4 (King Of Prussia Fire Co.) controlled hazards from all three vehicles. EMS units from 356, Chester Medic 2 (Berwyn Fire Co.) and Chester Medic 67 (West End) transported a total of four victims to an area trauma center. Chester Engine 68-1 (Valley Forge Fire Co.) provided additional manpower and scene lighting. 56 PD is investigating the cause of the accident. Job well done by all last night!
